I find that a cross trainer is better than treadmills because it also works out your arms as well as your legs and stomach.
You need to figure out what it is you want to achieve from the equipment and base your choice on that. You said you want to burn fat so you need cardio equipment 
Maybe just go to a local sports shop and try out some of them that way you can pick based on that, and figure what works best for you
